In Harmony

"The place to improve the world is first in one's
own heart and head and hands,
and then work out from there."
-Robert M. Pirsig
"How long have you been knitting?" I asked the eighty-four year old woman (she told me her age).
"Since I was thirteen, and it has always brought me great joy," she replied looking up at me with cornflower blue eyes touched with a schoolgirl's twinkle. "Just come on back on any Saturday morning, and I will be right here, and I have taught many people how to knit. Knitting is like meditation; it calms you and it is not hard to learn..."
I do hope to learn to knit someday, and perhaps I will learn from Grace on some sunny Saturday morning. What Grace does not realize is that there in the knit shop overflowing with color and softness awaiting creation, in those few moments of kind conversation, she had already become my teacher. Grace taught me the importance of never losing sight of our sweet passions that are in harmony with our "own heart and head and hands"... and if we do this, well then, it will simply "work out from there"...

Oh my, to knit? For me it was cross stitching. I watched hands move swiftly in and out of material creating JOY, and knew I wanted to feel that JOY!
I still have a mason jar with a crossstitch lid, and a label that says" wish jar" tucked safely in my
" precious treasures" cupboard, yes you did it over 20yrs ago, what JOY!
Harmony is a "Grace" of balance, with one's body and mind (can come with twinkling eyes)!
*oh, kiki... such sweet memories (and how dear that you have kept that jar for so long - thank you, because I loved creating it)...grace to you in this day... xok.
