"The naked earth is warm with Spring,
And with green grass and bursting trees
Leans to the sun's kiss glorying,
And quivers in the sunny breeze."
- Julian Grenfell
My childhood was spent "back East" until my folks moved us all to the West coast. All these years later I still look for the strong indication that a season has changed. In California I need to look closer for those changes, which also seems to allow for me to cultivate a higher regard for life's small beauties during any transition.
Where ever you are today... I wish you small glories and quivers of goodness as you "lean to the sun's kiss"...

Beautiful thoughts! Here in Arizona I have to sometimes look for changes as well. They aren't as dramatic as in other parts of the country. We have beautiful orange poppies in bloom here also.
Have a wonderful day Karen!
Karen, I really liked this post. When we moved from Northern California to Southern California, I didn't notice the seasons as much, and I missed that. Now, we will be moving back to Northern California because of my husband's work, and I will soon feel the seasons again. That is where I grew up. Please say a prayer for me for a safe journey, and thank you for this post today. It made me feel better. I bet it snowed alot where you grew up?

Did you take this photo? Is this where you live? My jaw is on the floor. That is so beautiful. I just want to stare at it all day long. I'm loving the warm sunshine. I planted some California poppies and are still waiting for them to pop up and tell me it's almost spring!
Karen,
What a beautiful picture! So peaceful with the lovely flowers gracing the green of the hills. I too grew up in seasons, but so love the gift of Southern California with its year round green and flowers and sun.
May each of our days be filled with the joy of God's presence and grace.
Love, Pam xo
Karen, what a wonderful picture! I can relate, the seasons of my childhood were marked very precisly, here where we live now is less obvious ... my dear friend, i'm sorry i haven't been around lately, the days were really busy but you have been tagged by me and please visit my blog http://birdssongs.blogspot.com/2012/02/bb.html for your award :-)
much love!
What a lovely post. Living in New England my whole life I guess I might be taking the seasons for granted. I know that autumn is my favorite season and I look forward to that each year.
