"Here and there, now and then, lose yourself
in nature and find peace."
- John Muir
As I turn the calendar's last page of 2011, I find December and an invitation to look for peacefulness... although we do not have gentle snowfalls here near my home, we do have indications that the season has turned. The winter beach is quieter and more reserved now. There are more dolphin visits out where the waves break and the fog settles. The beach walkers are fewer, bundled up in hooded sweatshirts, and arms are linked more closely with a loved one. The surfers are still faithful, but now they have slipped into slick wetsuits, and seem to linger and board-bob more, waiting longer for the wave they will choose to ride into shore. The close-by meditation garden blooms in paler and softer shades, and those seated on the ocean-view benches drift into serenity more easily. I welcome this quiet reprieve and the "here and there" peacefulness of this season...
I wish you peace today... here and there...

What a beautiful post, Karen! Thank you for the peace I find in just reading your blog. We also received your card earlier this week. It had such a lovely, wonderful sentiment ... so you! Thanks again!

HERE HERE...nature + silence = PEACE. That is all I want.
Dearest, thank you for your kind word this moment. We all work hard to post our blogs, our hearts, and sometimes one wonders if the message will be clear. Thank you. THAT FLOWER! WOW! I am NOT a photographer, so I unabashedly HUNT for photos on Pinterest but try my hardest to site properly!
Have a lovely day sweet one, Anita
I smiled when you talked about the surfers. My son and husband have surfed the waves all throughout California and other places, and it doesn't matter if it's summer or winter - they will always be out there. I never realized how therapeutic the waves were for them until a few years ago. I just loved your "peace" post. We all need peace in our lives.
