Come Sit...

"What I dream of is an art of balance, of purity and serenity, devoid of troubling or depressing subject-matter, an art which might be for every mental worker, be he businessman or writer, like an appeasing influence, like a mental soother, something like a good armchair in which to rest from physical fatigue."

-Henri Matisse

When I see an empty chair, I also see an invitation: Come sit with me for awhile it says...
And when I take the time to accept the invitation, I am soothed and cultivate rest... and I begin to keep company with the art of balance and inspiration...

Where have you found chairs that welcome you?

I hope this weekend you find empty chairs and accept their sweet invitations...

Thank you Karen for this reminder ... it's important to find the time in our 'rush here rush there' society to simply accept the invitation, to sit and just to be ... happy peaceful weekend to you my dear friend! much love and joy!!

I sit in my husbands red leather recliner. I put my head back, feet up and I get so relaxed that I'm asleep in minutes.

Karen, I thank you for reminding me that empty chairs are open invitations to rest. I often tend to pass by then and seldom give them another look. I do have to say your photograph with this gorgeous chair, is very inviting indeed. Thank you
:-)

I LOVE chairs, they are my friends, I like them all and am the customer who sits in them all. I want my friends to be able to chose their pleasure from the variety. I have always known a wingback waits for me in your home! Love to you.

About Me

My photo
I have always been inspired by my Grandfather's particular generosity and encouragement, along with his love for others and nature. His spirit lives on, and the influence is quietly with me as I write and share. This is my small offering that I pray will bless others and allow them to become Simply Inspired. warmly, karen -xok.

Each day provides its own gifts.
