Morning Bird

"I'd rather learn from one bird how to sing
than teach ten thousand stars how not to dance."
- E.E. Cummings from poem "You Shall Above All Things"
This line from E.E. Cummings' poem teaches me about the importance of right mentorship, and the importance of learning how to do something (learning how to sing from one bird), as opposed to learning how not to do something (like teaching "ten thousand stars how not to dance"). Life brings along many opportunities to stretch ourselves with new and different experiences... hopefully, we will have the grace to choose how to learn what puts a song in our heart and decline what does not allow us to dance.

I love this poem, and most of his. This man suffered much in his life, but was prolific with words, he reminds me to always value words, mine and others. Keep using your words they are reaching the universe, yeah!
*kiki, thank you for your gracious sharing and encouragement. You are always the teacher, as now I want to know more about e.e.cummings' life and learn a little more about where his wisdom comes from...xok.
